Terms of Use
Last updated: 16 May 2026
These are the terms under which you're welcome to use QRcrisp. We've kept them short and in plain English. If something isn't clear, email us at hello@qrcrisp.com.
The service
QRcrisp is a free, in-browser QR code generator. It generates static QR codes from content you provide. All generation happens locally in your browser. We don't store your data, and the codes you generate don't route through our servers.
It's free to use
Using QRcrisp costs you nothing. There are no hidden fees, no credits that run out, no premium tier that unlocks basic features. If that ever changes, we'll give clear notice before any charging starts.
The codes you generate are yours
QR codes generated using QRcrisp are yours to use however you like: commercially, personally, on printed materials, in digital products, in client work. No attribution required. No licence fees. No usage restrictions. Go ahead.
Test before you print
Always scan-test your QR codes before committing them to a print run. Scan with at least one physical device (not just a browser tool). We generate codes to the ISO/IEC 18004 specification, but print quality, physical distortion, and unusual display conditions can affect scannability in ways we can't anticipate from our end. The responsibility for checking that a code works in its final context is yours.
No warranty
QRcrisp is provided "as is", without any warranty of any kind, expressed or implied. We don't guarantee the service will be available at any given moment, that it will be free of bugs, or that it will produce a result fit for any particular purpose. We'll do our best, but we can't promise perfection.
Acceptable use
Don't use QRcrisp to generate QR codes for illegal purposes. That includes encoding links to malware, phishing pages, or illegal content, and generating codes intended to defraud people. You're responsible for the content you encode.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, QRcrisp and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service or the codes it generates. This includes (but isn't limited to) damages from a code failing to scan, a code encoding incorrect information, or a code being used in a context that causes a loss.
If you're using QR codes in a safety-critical context, please test thoroughly and maintain a backup plan.
Changes to the service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue QRcrisp at any time. Since the codes you generate are static and don't depend on our servers, any codes you've already downloaded will continue to work regardless of what happens to the service.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. We don't have a way to notify users of changes (since we don't collect email addresses), so check back if you're relying on the terms for something specific.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
