Privacy Policy

We've tried to make this as short and clear as possible, because the situation is genuinely simple: QRcrisp doesn't collect your data.

What we collect

Nothing. No name, no email address, no phone number, no IP address logging, no account details. There is no user account system.

QR code generation

All QR code generation happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The URLs, WiFi passwords, contact details, phone numbers, or any other content you type into the generator are never transmitted to our servers. They stay on your device. When you close the tab, that data is gone.

We cannot see what you're encoding. We don't want to.

Analytics and tracking

We don't run Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Matomo, or any other analytics service. There are no tracking scripts on this site. We have no idea how many people visit, which pages are popular, or where visitors come from. We've made peace with this.

Cookies

We don't set any cookies. The site does not use local storage for tracking purposes. The service worker (see below) uses the browser's standard cache API, which is separate from cookies.

Fonts and third-party resources

We don't load fonts or resources from Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, or any other external CDN. All assets are self-hosted. This means no third-party server sees your IP address when you visit QRcrisp.

Service worker and offline use

QRcrisp uses a service worker to cache the site's assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) in your browser. This is what allows the generator to work offline after your first visit. The cached files are just the site's own code. No personal data is involved. You can clear this cache at any time through your browser's settings.

Server logs

Like every web server, ours logs basic HTTP request data: the URL requested, the HTTP status code returned, timestamp, and (typically) the requesting IP address and user agent string. These logs are standard infrastructure logs used for security and debugging. They are not processed for marketing purposes, not shared with third parties, and are rotated and deleted on a rolling basis.

UK and EU users: this processing is covered by our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).

Advertising and affiliate links

QRcrisp currently has no advertising and no affiliate links. If we ever add advertising (for example via Google AdSense) or affiliate links to third-party products, we will update this policy to list them explicitly and explain what data they collect. We won't bury it in a vague "partners" clause.
